The Challenge

The client was facing a spike in work volume and needed high-caliber, short-term support to keep pace with internal demands. They were specifically looking for an Interim Analyst to assist with:

  • Financial modeling and data analytics
  • Insightful presentation and deck creation
  • Translating complex data into executive-ready narratives

The ideal candidate would bring a consulting toolkit—with both structured problem-solving and strong communication skills. Comfort in ambiguity, speed, and precision were critical.

Key qualifications included:

  • 2+ years at a top-tier consulting firm
  • Strong Excel and data modeling capabilities
  • Excellent slide-building and storytelling skills

Our Approach

We searched for pre-MBA consultants with hands-on experience in strategy development, data modeling, and executive communication—particularly those who had worked in tech-forward, cross-functional environments.

Given the interim nature of the role, we prioritized candidates who could hit the ground running, synthesize insights quickly, and contribute to high-visibility deliverables without a steep ramp-up.

The Placement

We placed a former strategy consultant and Harvard MBA with exceptional modeling, analytics, and communication skills. Highlights of his profile include:

  • Extensive experience building financial models, conducting M&A analyses, and using data to tell a compelling story
  • Deep expertise in Excel, paired with a strong ability to translate insights into executive-ready decks
  • A background in technology strategy, transformation implementation, and cross-functional planning
  • A track record of managing enterprise-level projects in fast-moving and ambiguous environments
  • Strength in areas such as trend analysis, business model innovation, and new business development

He is known as a strategic thinker, an emotionally intelligent collaborator, and an innovative problem solver—traits that made him especially effective in high-performance, highly visible workstreams.

The Outcome

The interim analyst quickly delivered value—supporting multiple workstreams through detailed modeling, executive presentations, and data-driven insights. His ability to move fluidly between numbers and narrative made him a key contributor to senior decision-making processes.

In a high-expectation environment where clarity, precision, and speed are essential, his placement proved how the right interim talent can bridge the gap between analysis and action.
