The Challenge / Mandate

Our client sought a Chief of Staff to act as the right hand to the CEO, supporting the leadership team in driving high-impact strategic initiatives. The Chief of Staff would guide critical operational improvements, support top-line growth strategies, and drive organizational alignment.


Key responsibilities included:

  • Leading and owning strategic initiatives related to growth and operational process improvements
  • Acting as a thought partner to the CEO in high-level strategic planning and execution
  • Coordinating the executive team, facilitating leadership meetings, and tracking key action items
  • Preparing Board-level communications and presentation materials
  • Translating complex data into actionable recommendations to drive change and gain stakeholder buy-in
  • Developing operational roadmaps and establishing data-driven reporting systems to enable informed decision-making

The ideal candidate needed a consulting toolkit, experience leading transformations, and excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.


Search Strategy

The search focused on candidates with 5-10 years of experience, ideally combining top-tier management consulting backgrounds with operational leadership in healthcare or tech-enabled services.


Key requirements included:

  • 3+ years of experience in management consulting or equivalent operational leadership roles
  • Proven ability to lead growth strategy and transformation initiatives
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels
  • A metrics-driven approach with strong analytical capabilities
  • Experience distilling complex problems into clear, actionable solutions
  • A top-tier MBA preferred

The selected candidate was a former Junior Engagement Manager at McKinsey and previously served as a Vice President in Investment Banking at a leading global bank. With a strong background in both strategic problem-solving and financial analysis, the candidate brought a unique combination of rigor, structure, and adaptability. Their experience advising C-suite clients on growth strategies and complex transformations equipped them to step seamlessly into a role requiring both big-picture thinking and tactical execution.


The Outcome

The placed Chief of Staff quickly became a central figure in the organization’s leadership team.
